How to install barbed wire on a chain link fence?
With barbed wire topping, chain link fences can achieve greater safety and avoid unnecessary wind gusts. The following shows the installation steps.
Slide the barbed wire extension rod onto the existing corner rod of the chain fence. These extensions always come with screws to fix other posts to those posts on the fence. If the corner posts of the fence do not have holes for these, you need to use a drill to fix the extension.
Check the barbed wire posts to find the clamps, there are three on each post. Attach a piece of wire mesh to one of the clamps and then wrap it around the post. Secure the wires with cable ties to prevent slipping.
Connect the barbed wire to the next corner post. Attach the wire mesh filter to the barbed wire mesh and tighten it until the wire mesh is tightened, and then clamp the wire mesh to the next post. Repeat the process for each corner post until you return to the first post.
Use the attached clip to fix the barbed wire to the first corner post. After the wires are tightened and fixed, cut off the excess. Repeat the entire process for the second and third sections of barbed wire.
